What is EFT?

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an alternative acupuncture treatment for physical pain and emotional suffering. It is also named emotional tapping or psychological acupressure. Individuals using this technique believe that tapping the body creates a balance in the energy system and treats pain.

The developer of EFT, Gary Craig, believes that an energy disruption causes all negative emotions and pain. Even though EFT is still under research, it helps treat people with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is one of the best therapies for treating depression without any medications

How does Tapping in EFT work?

The focus of the emotional freedom technique is on the meridian points, also called energy hot spots, to refill the balance to the body energy.

It is considered, restoring the balance of energy can relieve symptoms that an unpleasant experience might have caused. Meridian points, thought of as areas of the body where the energy flows, are based on Chinese medicine. These pathways of energy flow through your body helps balance the energy. Any imbalance can cause disease or sickness.

Use your fingertips for tapping in EFT, similar to the needles used in acupuncture, to apply pressure. This EFT tapping gives you access to your body energy and sends a signal to the part of the brain that controls emotions like stress. It claimed that stimulating the hot spots through emotional freedom technique tapping can lessen negative emotions like distress. Ultimately it restores the balance to the disrupted energy.
