Although overthinking may seem simple, it can have a detrimental effect on your physical and mental health.

Have you ever noticed that you spend excessive amounts of time contemplating rather than acting? Do you frequently find yourself reflecting on a certain subject? Are you continuously fretting and having racing thoughts? This is what we refer to as an overthinking pattern, which does nothing but harm to our well-being.

Possible overthinking warning signs include:

  • Dwelling on the past or current circumstances
  • Making decisions that you later regret
  • rehashing your errors in your head
  • Bringing up difficult or unsettling conversations
  • focusing on issues you can’t change, control, or improve
  • envisioning the worst-case situation or result
  • Taking your troubles out of the present and placing them in the past or future that cannot be changed
  • “Running your list” as you attempt to sleep
  • asking questions but never deciding or doing it.

Physical symptoms of Overthinking.

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Forgetfulness

  • Anxiety
  • Irritation
