With the increasing popularity of social media, people have started abiding social media in their day to day life so much, that it has become a permanent schedule of a human to be active on social media sites at least a few times a day. This urge of being active on social media is increasing day by day, and people are getting more and more addicted to these social media platforms. Not that these platforms don’t provide their benefits, but along with these advantages that they have, they also bring upon us many terrible and severe threats that can lead to the uprooting of our society right from its roots.

What is Social Media?

In simple words, social media is an online platform that enables you to share information, ideas, and other forms of expression through virtual communities and networking. It is a place where you can connect with the people in the different parts of the world.

1. Addiction:

Online Harassment has been a growing concern among peers these days, and it can lead to dangerous effects on the social life of teenagers. The cyberbullying is done in many ways like sending some racist comments, body shaming, discriminative comments based on caste and religion, etc. This can lead the teens into stress, anxiety, and can lead to severe depression.

4. Health Issues:

Keeping mental stress and depression apart, social media can also cause some adverse effects on the physical health of an individual. Getting addicted to social media can cause various health issues like obesity and vision problems.
